Glutes are used in a variety of actions from moving the leg to extending and rotating the hip, as well as extending and rotating the trunk of the body. Calves Calves (calf muscles) influence the ankles and contribute to overall ankle strength. Strengthening your calf muscles will help your balance and performing movements such as running, walking and jumping. Equipment Used Aerobic Steps The aerobic step is an elevated platform used during exercise. The height of the step can be tailored to individual needs by inserting risers under the step. The aerobic step is most commonly used for various bodyweight, plyometric and dumbbell exercises. Exercise Instructions Step 1 Start with a low step and run up and down. Step 2 Stay nice and light on the balls of your feet. Step 3 Continue for the recommended number of reps or designated time.
