I bought a new protein powder yesterday. It's called Natural Whey by Kaizen. It's a premium whey blend from New Zealand that has no artificial ingredients.
I started an 8 week body composition challenge last week so I've been a bit more careful as to what kinds of foods I'm putting in my body. This whey protein is low carb, low fat and doesn't have any artificial sweeteners, colours, GMO's or fillers in it.
The whey blend is sourced from grass fed cows in New Zealand (yes I know this fact is almost impossible to prove but I'll believe it's true) and it's free of bovine growth hormone and antibiotics. It's also cold processed which means it doesn't get exposed to heat during processing. Heat modifies the amino acids, called denaturing, into shapes the body can't use. Cold processed whey is the highest quality of whey available on the market and is also an incredibly digestible source of protein, even for those that are lactose intolerant.
I'm going to take 2 servings of Natural Whey a day. One scoop (24g) in my smoothie in the morning and another scoop or two within 30 minutes of my daily workout.
Here is the recipe for the breakfast smoothie I had today:
red beet (and beet root)
frozen berry mix (strawberries, blueberries, rasberries)
1 scoop of whey protein
1 tablespoon of coconut oil
