Red Maca Root

I started taking red maca a few weeks ago. Maca is a small root vegetable from the Peruvian Andes that contains fatty acids, fiber, proteins, carbohydrates and minerals. Maca is an ancient Peruvian superfood that was used by Incan warriors to increase stamina, boost libido and combat fatigue. There are 3 different kinds of maca; red, yellow and black and each one has it's own unique benefits.

The red is known for its antioxidant properties and better prostate health. The yellow is known for its beneficial effects on female fertility and menopausal symptoms. And the black is known for its positive effects on learning and memory. 

Right now I'm taking 5 grams a day in powder form. It tastes a bit nutty so I usually add it to my post workout smoothie or mix it with a glass of apple juice.
