Hi everyone. Just keen to hear about your shake/supplement routine. Pre workout, during and after, protein, BCAA and so on. Probably best to also outline what you are aiming to achieve by having shakes.

I personally only have a pre workout 30 min before workout and then Protein shake straight after. Both with milk. At this point I am trying to add a little more tone and bulk and get the most out of each workout. It seems to be working great.

Hey man!

I'm a lot like you.. my goals have always been to bulk up a bit but still stay pretty lean. I don't usually have anything pre-workout (other than food an hour or two before) but I will almost always have a protein shake right after.

If I'm at the gym I just mix it with water. If I can make it home within a reasonable time, I mix it with milk. I also use a flavourless protein powder from a company called Cyto-Matrix that I mix with chocolate almond milk.

I don't really take any other supplements other than MCT oil and fish oil capsules. I have really tried to dial in my diet the past couple years and get all of my nutrients through real food.

Awesome, Thanks Ben. I agree with diet and real food. Just a correction, the pre workout is with water. I realised lime and milk are not that good together. Funny actually, beed doing it wrong the entire time. Same results though.

What's the name of the pre-workout mix that you take?

And what have you been doing wrong the entire time?
Whatever it is, you couldn't have been doing it that wrong if you end up with the same results! ;)

Well I am just getting back into the routine of working out so my shake routine is just to give my muscles a boost of protein for the repairing process after I workout. It's pretty simple just frozen bananas, peanut butter, coco powder, almond milk, and spinach all blended together. The spinach is just for added nutrition you can't really taste it.

Not really sure if I'm going about building my shake the right way but I'm sure it doesn't hurt. I try to stay away from protein powder trying to keep it as natural as possible with what I got to work with.

Hey Jayson!

That shake recipe sounds pretty tasty!

I like that you keep your food sources as natural as possible. I have one protein shake (whey isolate or hemp protein powder) a day after my workout but other than that, I try to get the rest of my daily protein from real foods.

You might want to add some hemp seeds or hemp protein to your shake. Hemp is a great source of vegan protein and omega 3 fatty acids.

These are the hemp products I use: http://www.nateralife.com

Sounds great I'll have to try the hemp seeds. I like the fact that it's vegan. I'm not too familiar with omega 3 though. And thanks for the link!

Awesome tips. Sorry my reply is so late, all my shakes and pre workouts come from a company in Tasmania Aus, Bulk Nutrients. Their stuff does not have loads of additives and is quite natural. I have enjoyed it and seen results.
