MUSCLES ENGAGED Obliques Many people put a lot of focus on working their abs but forget their surrounding neighbors; the oblique muscles. Obliques serve as stabilizers, and are used in almost every physical activity. Exercising your obliques should be a very important part of your workout program. Exercise Instructions Step 1 Start in a side plank position. Make sure that your elbow is in line with your shoulder and your body weight is being supported by your underside obliques. Step 2 Twist under your body and reach as far as you can on the other side with out breaking form. Step 3 Rotate back and press your arm back up towards the ceiling.
